Besides floating steel and critical minerals, South America is another favorite investment theme for me. In week 06 of 2025, the focus will be on Chile and Colombia.

Chile's presidential election is this year, while Colombia's is in 2026. Both countries are at political crossroads that would spark investors’ interest.

Colombian politics and economy are scraping the bottom, similar to Argentina (without hyperinflation) in 2020-2022. The popularity of Gustavo Petro, the incumbent president, is digging new lows. Last week, his coalition officially fell apart.
